Tasting notes

Deep ruby. The nose is creamy and soft, with vanilla, red and dark forest fruits, sweet black cherry and the freshness of redcurrant. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, with supple tannins, good balance and a long, refined finish.

About this wine

N°2 is presented by Brancaia as the younger brother of Ilatraia. It is made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the younger vineyards of the estate in the Maremma, where the Mediterranean climate and sandy clay soils give ripe, soft fruit.

After fermentation the wine ages for twelve months in used tonneaux, so that the oak supports rather than dominates the fruit, followed by a few months in bottle. It is approachable on release and has the potential to age for up to ten years.

A generous coastal Cabernet that shows the warmer, rounder side of Tuscany.
