Tasting notes

Intense ruby red. Ripe red and dark fruit on the nose, followed by toasty and spicy notes, liquorice, tar and a touch of eucalyptus. Warm, full-bodied and round on the palate, with freshness, ripe tannins and a long, intense finish.

About this wine

Promis is a Toscana IGT red from Ca' Marcanda, Angelo Gaja's estate in Bolgheri. It blends Merlot and Syrah with a little Sangiovese, in recent vintages 55%, 35% and 10%.

The bunches are strictly selected at harvest and the wine is made with slow, gentle cellar work, then aged in French oak barriques. Warm, round and generous, with ripe dark fruit and spice. This listing is the 2020 vintage.
