About this wine

Sand is the Lagrein of Nals Margreid from Gries, on the Bolzano plain, where sandy alluvial soils with porphyry and a warm basin climate suit this native grape.

The hand-picked grapes ferment in stainless steel with gentle pump-overs, then the wine ages about seven months in 40-hectolitre oak casks. Deep ruby, it shows blackberry, plum and sweet spice with balsamic, herbal hints, and is fresh, full-bodied and tannic. This listing is the 2021 vintage.
