Tasting notes

Pale garnet with orange rim. A refined, layered nose of dried rose, raspberry, orange peel, white truffle and sweet spice. The palate is elegant and seamless, with silky yet persistent tannins, fresh acidity and a very long, perfumed finish. Still reserved in youth; decant generously or cellar for several years.

About this wine

Produttori del Barbaresco, the historic growers' cooperative of the village of Barbaresco, produces its single-vineyard Riservas only in the finest vintages. This one comes exclusively from the Asili cru (MGA), one of the most prestigious sites of the appellation, with clay-limestone soils streaked with sand.

The Nebbiolo ferments in stainless steel at 30 °C with a 28-day maceration on the skins and malolactic fermentation, then ages for a minimum of 30 months in large oak casks of 25–50 hectolitres before bottling in June.

Asili is known for elegance and finesse rather than sheer power: a complex, seamless Barbaresco that is reserved in youth and reveals its intense character with time in the cellar.
