Tasting notes

Garnet with orange glints. Rose petals, red cherry, dried herbs, liquorice and a hint of tar on the nose. The palate is elegant and layered, with ripe yet firm tannins, lively acidity and a long, savoury finish. Decanting is recommended.

About this wine

Produttori del Barbaresco is the cooperative of the village of Barbaresco, founded in 1958 by the parish priest Don Fiorino Marengo, who brought the local growers together to make wine from their own grapes. This Riserva bears his name as a tribute to the founder.

It is made from 100% Nebbiolo grown in the vineyards of the cooperative's members around Barbaresco, vinified in the traditional way and aged at length in large oak casks, in line with the Barbaresco Riserva rules of at least four years of ageing.

A special release from one of the reference producers of Piedmont, it unites the floral elegance of Barbaresco with depth and long cellaring potential.
