Tasting notes

Medium ruby with garnet edges. Red cherry, dried rose and liquorice meet notes of tar, tobacco and sweet spice. The palate is firm and dry, with fine-grained tannins, lifted acidity and real depth for its class. The finish is long, earthy and classically Nebbiolo.

About this wine

Cavallotto farms around 25 hectares on the Bricco Boschis hill in Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of the Barolo zone, with organic certification and a long-standing refusal of herbicides and synthetic fertilisers.

This Langhe Nebbiolo comes from younger vines on Barolo-classified ground. It is fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel with a long maceration on the skins, then aged in large Slavonian oak casks for around a year before bottling.

In effect it is a Barolo in miniature: the same site, the same hands, released earlier and ready sooner.
