Tasting notes

Deep garnet. Precise and sensual, with blackcurrant, dark cherry, cedar and spice on the nose. The palate combines power with finesse, with firm yet silky tannins from the high share of Cabernet Sauvignon and a long, structured finish.

About this wine

Château Giscours is a Third Growth of the 1855 classification in the Margaux appellation, with vineyards on deep gravel soils. Owned by the Albada Jelgersma family, the estate is known for a powerful, dense style with silky, refined tannins and great ageing potential.

The 2010 blends 71% Cabernet Sauvignon and 29% Merlot, aged 17 months in French oak barrels, half of them new. Precise and sensual, it combines power with finesse, and its high share of Cabernet Sauvignon gives it the structure for long ageing.
