Tasting notes

Six vintages of classic Saint-Julien, from deep ruby to garnet in colour, with blackcurrant, cedar and graphite on the nose. The younger 2015 and 2016 show firm, ripe tannins, while the older vintages bring more evolved, savoury complexity. Each finishes long and precise.

About this wine

Château Langoa Barton is a Third Growth of the 1855 classification in Saint-Julien, owned without interruption by the Barton family since 1821. Its vines lie on a gravel ridge, with parcels facing the Gironde estuary.

This collector's wooden case holds six bottles from the 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016 vintages, a rare way to follow how the same terroir expresses itself year after year. The vineyard is planted with about 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 11% Cabernet Franc, the blend varying with each vintage.

The wines age for 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels, around 60% new, and make a memorable gift or a tasting evening for true Bordeaux lovers.
