Tasting notes

Bright ruby red. Floral and spiced on the nose, with aniseed, cinnamon, dried violet and ripe plum. Soft and approachable on the first sip, it then shows a firmer, more decisive core, with ripe tannin and a long finish on dark cherry and sweet spice.

About this wine

Ferro 13 is the project of four Italian friends who select vineyards in different regions and present each wine as a separate character.

Nerd is the alter ego of Alberto Burato, the analytical member of the team, born in the Veneto and resident in Sicily for years. The fruit comes from Sicilian vineyards on the Iblei plateau, on volcanic rock and soils of the Apennine-Maghrebian chain. Pre-fermentation maceration is followed by separate vinification of each parcel and a long rest in steel.

The result is a Nero d'Avola read for freshness and perfume rather than sheer power.
