Tasting notes

Deep golden colour. A mature nose of honey, dried apricot and lemon peel with the typical kerosene note of aged Riesling and a hint of beeswax. The palate is dry and still vibrant, with lively acidity, layered dried fruit and a long, mineral finish.

About this wine

Enoteca Riesling 2015 from Minkovi Brothers, the winery near Karnobat in eastern Bulgaria, is a white wine with ten years behind it – a very rare category for Bulgaria. Riesling is one of the few white grapes that improves with long ageing.

Mature Riesling develops its characteristic kerosene note over honey, dried apricot and lemon peel, while the acidity stays alive even after a decade. This is a wine for those who appreciate the complexity that only time can give.

Serve at 10–12 °C with fish, smoked products or mature cheese.
