Tasting notes

Straw yellow with greenish reflections. Green apple leads the nose, with white flowers and a faint hay note behind. On the palate fresh nectarine and white peach come forward, acidity and fruit held in balance, and the lees work gives a gentle breadth. It closes crisp and mineral, with real length.

About this wine

Paolo Manzone and his wife Luisella run their family winery in the Meriame cru at Serralunga d'Alba, in a small amphitheatre between Baudana and Lazzarito. The vineyards are worked by hand and without chemical treatments, and the estate is part of The Green Experience sustainability programme.

Reisu is the cellar's white, an Arneis grown in the Roero on the left bank of the Tanaro, at around 400 metres with a south-east exposure. Whole bunches are pressed gently and cold, the juice ferments in stainless steel, and the wine is then stirred on its fine lees to build texture while keeping its nerve.
