Tasting notes

Ruby red. The nose shows sour cherry and plum with a hint of black pepper and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is structured yet fresh and succulent, with soft tannins and a juicy, fruit-driven finish.

About this wine

Sedàra is the juicy, approachable red of Donnafugata, the well-known Sicilian winery based at Contessa Entellina. The grapes come from the estate vineyards and from other suitable areas in south-western Sicily.

The blend brings together the native Nero d'Avola with Syrah, Merlot and small amounts of other varieties. After fermentation the wine ages for around 18 months in tank and at least six months in bottle, which rounds it out and gives it balance.

Ruby red, it offers cherry and plum with a touch of black pepper, and a structured yet fresh and succulent palate. At 14% alcohol it has the warmth of Sicily while remaining easy to drink with everyday dishes.
