Deep purple red. Ripe cherry and blackberry on the nose, with black pepper. Generous and full on the palate, with smooth, lasting tannins and a fresh, fruity finish.

Le Volte dell'Ornellaia is the most approachable red of Tenuta dell'Ornellaia in Bolgheri, a Toscana IGT that brings the estate's style to everyday drinking. The 2022 blends 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot.

2022 was a dry, low-yield vintage: a 75-day drought from May was broken by summer storms, and a dry September with cool nights helped the grapes ripen. Each variety was fermented separately in small steel tanks, then the wine aged 10 months, partly in barriques previously used for Ornellaia and partly in concrete. This listing is the 2022 vintage.
