About this wine

Bertani's Valpolicella Ripasso comes from the Valpantena valley, east of Verona, from the historic house founded in 1857. The name comes from its second fermentation, the Veronese ripasso.

Young Valpolicella is refermented on the skins of naturally dried grapes, which adds richness and concentration, and then ages in large oak casks and concrete before a short rest in bottle. Intense ruby, it shows cherry and undergrowth with spice and chocolate, and is tannic, meaty and savoury. This listing is the 2020 vintage.
