Tasting notes

Deep ruby red. The nose shows ripe cherry and small red berries with earthy notes, tobacco and sweet spice from the French oak. The palate is full and structured, with ripe fruit, well-integrated tannins and a long, warm, savoury finish.

About this wine

Vuaria is one of Feudo Disisa's single-vineyard Cru wines, named after a two-hectare plot on the Disisa estate at Grisì, in the Monreale area of western Sicily. The vines, around 25 years old, grow in clay soil and are trained on spurred cordon at 5,000 plants per hectare.

Made from 100% Nero d'Avola, the grapes are selectively harvested and macerate on the skins for 18 days, with temperature-controlled fermentation and malolactic fermentation in steel. The wine then ages for 18 months in French oak barrels and a further 12 months in bottle before release.
