Tasting notes

Bright ruby red. The nose shows cherry and small red berries with black pepper, cinnamon, juniper, vanilla and dark chocolate. The palate is enveloping, fresh and juicy, with fine tannins and a long, spicy finish.

About this wine

Pieropan is a family estate in Soave, in the Veneto, whose story began in 1880 and has been shaped by four generations of growers; its vineyards are farmed under organic certification. Ruberpan comes from the Monte Garzon vineyard at Cellore d'Illasi, at 300-500 metres, facing south on clay and limestone soils.

The blend is 60% Corvina Veronese, 30% Corvinone, 5% Rondinella and 5% Croatina. Fermentation and maceration last 12 days in steel without malolactic fermentation, after which the wine ages for 18-24 months in French oak tonneaux and several months in bottle.

Fresh, juicy and enveloping, with fine tannins, it is a Valpolicella Superiore of real depth that remains a pleasure to drink.
