About this wine

Fass Nr. 9 ("cask number 9") is the Vernatsch, or Schiava, of Cantina Girlan, from hillside vineyards in Oltradige at 400 to 500 metres, with vines over 30 years old on moraine soils over volcanic porphyry.

The hand-picked grapes ferment in stainless steel, then the wine ages six months in large wooden casks. It offers juicy cherry fruit, subtle spice and vibrant freshness, with the delicate character and velvety tannins of good Vernatsch. Serve it slightly cool. This listing is the 2020 vintage.
