Tasting notes

Garnet-tinged ruby. The nose offers ripe red cherry, plum, sweet spice and hints of leather and earth. The palate is structured and elegant, with very fine tannins, great complexity and a long, savoury finish. Unfiltered: decanting recommended.

About this wine

Siro Pacenti laid the foundations of his estate in 1970 with the purchase of Pelagrilli, north of Montalcino, and his son Giancarlo bottled the first Rosso and Brunello in 1988. Today the estate is known for modern, polished Brunello of great precision.

Vecchie Vigne is born from two vineyards with vines more than 35 years old. The 100% Sangiovese ages 24 months in 225-litre French barriques and then in bottle, and is released unfiltered. Structured, elegant and complex, it reveals its full potential after a few more years in the cellar.
