Tasting notes

Bright pale straw. Flint, gooseberry, hazelnut, lemongrass and apple on the nose, framed by subtle oak. The palate is elegant and layered, with fine acidity, a creamy texture and a long, mineral finish.

About this wine

Kreuzweg is the summit of the Castelfeder range, the family winery founded in 1969 by Alfons Giovanett and led today by the third generation. This Chardonnay comes from the single Kreuzweg cru in Margreid (Magrè), on limestone and gravel soils, and is released in limited numbers.

After fermentation it spends 18 months in barriques, then 12 months in steel tanks and six months in bottle, a long maturation that builds depth and finesse.

Presented here in the festive magnum format, which allows the wine to age even more gracefully, it is a remarkable bottle for special occasions.
