Tasting notes

Deep red in colour. The nose is fresh and vibrant, recalling just-picked grapes and red berries. The palate is light and fine, with softened tannins, juicy fruit and a clean, refreshing finish.

About this wine

Natur is the most free-spirited red of Château Penin, a family estate in Génissac on the right bank of the Dordogne, run by the Carteyron family for several generations. It is a Bordeaux made with no added sulfites and nothing but grapes.

The wine is 100% Merlot. After fermentation it is kept cool and aged on its lees with regular stirring (bâtonnage), which gives texture and natural protection. It is then carefully filtered, bottled under strict microbiological control and rested for nine months in bottle before release.

The result is a light, fine and fruit-driven Merlot that shows the pure, just-picked character of the grape and is made for relaxed sharing.
