Tasting notes

Bright garnet. Aromas of red cherry, rose petals, liquorice and sweet spice. Structured and savoury on the palate, with the firm tannins and deep minerality of Serralunga, and a long, elegant finish.

About this wine

Paolo Manzone runs a family estate of about 20 hectares in the Meriame area of Serralunga d'Alba, set between the celebrated crus of Baudana and Lazzarito, and his wines carry the unmistakable character of this commune.

The Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d'Alba is made only from grapes grown within Serralunga, on south-southwest facing slopes at 350 metres, and has been produced since the 1999 vintage. It ages for 38 months in total, around 24 of them in large Slavonian oak casks and the rest in French tonneaux.

The magnum is ideal for long cellaring and special occasions.
