Tasting notes

Deep garnet with violet glints. The nose brings cherry and dried fruit with hints of dark berries and spice. The palate is fresh and balanced, with supple tannins, a round mid-palate and a clean, fruity finish.

About this wine

Castelfeder is a family winery in South Tyrol, founded in 1969 by Alfons Giovanett and run today by the third generation. The red cuvée of its young Mont Mès line comes from selected vineyards in the Bassa Atesina.

Lagrein, Merlot and Cabernet are vinified separately, with 10 to 14 days of maceration, then blended and matured for 12 months in stainless steel to keep the fruit vivid. Each grape plays its part: Lagrein gives colour, Merlot ripe fruit, Cabernet fullness and elegance.

Fresh, balanced and easy to drink, it is an everyday red with genuine Alpine character.
