Tasting notes

Pale garnet red. The nose is perfumed in the Nebbiolo way: dried rose, sour cherry and raspberry, with a light note of sweet spice and tea leaf. The palate is medium-bodied, the tannins fine and already approachable, and bright acidity carries a clean, gently savoury finish.

About this wine

Paolo Manzone and his wife Luisella run their family winery in the Meriame cru at Serralunga d'Alba, in a small amphitheatre between Baudana and Lazzarito. The vineyards are worked by hand and without chemical treatments.

Mirine is their Nebbiolo d'Alba, from vineyards at around 400 metres in the Sinio area, south-east facing on limestone-clay soils, aged twelve months in French oak tonneaux. This is the magnum: the larger format ages more gently than the standard bottle, and it suits a long table and a slow meal.
