Tasting notes

Bright golden yellow. A mature nose of ripe yellow fruit, elderflower and garden herbs, with hints of flint and honey that come with age. Full and textured on the palate, with lively Alpine acidity keeping it fresh, and a long, savoury, mineral finish.

About this wine

Castelfeder is a family winery in South Tyrol, founded in 1969 by Alfons Giovanett and now run by the third generation, with its cellar in Kurtinig and a wine shop in Neumarkt.

Burgum Novum is the estate's line of riserva wines, first released in 1989: careful hand work in the vineyard and in the cellar, followed by around three years of patience before the wines leave the winery.

This is the riserva version of Castelfeder's Sauvignon Blanc from the 2017 vintage, a mature Alpine white that now shows the depth and complexity only time in bottle can give.
