Tasting notes

Bright, translucent ruby. The nose offers red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry with hints of forest floor and gentle spice. The palate is silky and fresh, with fine tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, elegant finish.

About this wine

Alois Lageder is one of the great family wineries of Alto Adige, based in Margreid and run by the family for generations. The estate is a pioneer of biodynamic farming in Italy and is known for wines of precision and freshness from the Alpine south.

Krafuss is Lageder's single-vineyard Pinot Nero, grown on a cool, elevated site above the village of Margreid, where the high altitude and wide day-night temperature swings preserve the grape's finesse. It is an elegant, silky Pinot Nero with great aromatic depth and the capacity to age gracefully.
