Tasting notes

Garnet with a brick rim. Aromas of dried plum, blackberry, leather, tobacco and black pepper. Medium-full body with smooth, resolved tannins and a long, savoury finish.

About this wine

Merlot and Syrah, vintage 2016, from the Enoteca series of Minkovi Brothers, one of the oldest working wineries in Bulgaria, founded in Karnobat in 1875.

The blend combines the soft, fruity roundness of Merlot with the structure and black pepper of Syrah. Almost ten years in bottle have smoothed the tannins and added leather, tobacco and dried plum to the primary fruit. A complex, mature red for slow dinners.

Serve at 16–18 °C, opened an hour ahead, with roast meat or game.
