Tasting notes

Deep, intense ruby colour. A complex and precise nose of blackcurrant, graphite and spice with cedar and mint. The palate is ample and clean, with creamy texture, ripe tannins and well-integrated noble oak that gives length and a slightly floral finish.

About this wine

Bononia Gold Selection Red is the premium cuvée of Bononia Estate in the Vidin region on the Danube. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, aged 12 months in new French oak barrels, followed by 6 months of harmonising in special gold-plated wine vessels and 6 months in bottle. A limited series of 2,500 bottles.

The wine has a deep, intense colour and a complex, precise nose of blackcurrant, graphite and spice. In the mouth it is ample and clean, with cream, cedar and mint, while the well-integrated noble oak gives length and a slightly floral finish.

Serve at 16–18 °C with red meat or mature cheeses.
