Tasting notes

Pale greenish yellow. Mineral notes of flint with crystal-clear fruit, citrus and a hint of elderflower. The palate is dry, with depth, precision and a long, persistent finish. Its freshness and clean structure make it an easy companion at the table, and it is best enjoyed while the fruit is at its brightest.

About this wine

Pfitscher is a family winery in Montan, South Tyrol, with a tradition stretching over seven generations.

For the Sauvignon Blanc Riserva "Mathias" the grapes macerate for about six hours before pressing. Half the must ferments in small oak barrels and half in stainless steel, followed by eighteen months on the fine lees and several months in bottle.

The long lees ageing gives a deep, precise and age-worthy Sauvignon, a serious white for the table. The family winery in Montan is itself a showcase of sustainable, energy-efficient building among the vines.
